This piece has a little bit of vintage! It was woven in 2007-2008 by Cindy Roan. Cindy’s family boasts several famous weavers including Betty B. Roan and Betty Ann Roan. Cindy used Germantown yarns and carefully threaded 12 faceted crystal beads onto the warp and just as carefully and accurately wove them into her design. It won a white ribbon in the 2008 Gallup Inter-tribal Ceremonial.
Cindy used yarn reproduced to duplicate the Germantown yarns used in the 1870-1890 Transitional period. It was recently “tuned-up” with replacement side cords and end cords. Included with it is a picture of Cindy with trader Bill Malone. It’s a little piece of history in the making.
